Strategic Young Members Conference (SYMC)

The Strategic Young Members Conference (SYMC) is an international IPA event dedicated to empowering and engaging those responsible for recruiting and retaining young members. It provides a platform for forward-thinking discussion on the future of the Association, encouraging participants to share ideas on how to build a modern, inclusive, and dynamic IPA.

Through workshops, expert-led sessions, and collaborative group work, attendees strengthen leadership skills, exchange best practices, and deepen international cooperation. The SYMC supports the IPA’s mission by inspiring innovation and helping the next generation of members play an active role in shaping the organisation.

Summary of the Event

SYMC 2025 took place from 5–7 September 2025 at IBZ Schloss Gimborn, Germany, bringing together young IPA leaders and national representatives from around the world.

Throughout the conference, participants explored practical strategies for improving youth engagement, including digital communication, mentoring frameworks, cost-efficient On-Patrol events, and new mobility opportunities through study trips and exchanges.

Interactive sessions, group workshops, and open forums encouraged each delegate to contribute their insights on how the IPA can adapt to the expectations and needs of younger members. The event also provided valuable networking opportunities, helping strengthen collaboration across sections.

The conference concluded with a set of shared recommendations for future initiatives, reaffirming the commitment to building a more accessible, innovative, and well-connected IPA community.
