Our Strategy 2023 – 2027
In December, during the IEB strategy meeting held in Nottingham, we were supported by a strategic advisor who guided us through proven strategic models. This process helped us explore deeply the very heart and soul of the International Police Association (IPA) — its values, purpose, and vision. The outcome is a focused strategy centred on growth, inclusivity, professional development, and international collaboration.
Key Objectives
- Growth and Inclusivity: Our primary goal is to expand the IPA, not only by increasing membership numbers but also by welcoming new countries and championing diversity within our global family.
- Technology and Connectivity: We recognise the importance of modern technology and improved connectivity among our members worldwide. Strengthening internal communications and promoting the IPA brand through a dedicated internal marketing team is essential to our growth.
- Professional Development: Continuous learning remains a cornerstone of our strategy. While we plan to broaden our seminar offerings beyond Gimborn, we remain committed to preserving Gimborn as our flagship centre of educational excellence.
- International Cooperation: Building and strengthening partnerships with influential institutions such as the United Nations, Council of Europe, Europol, and Interpol remains a priority. We will actively seek new opportunities for collaboration and mutual cooperation.
- Social and Cultural Engagement: Our social events and activities play a vital role in fostering international friendships. Encouraging participation between sections through sports, arts, culture, and travel helps us build strong, lasting bonds.
- Sustainability Commitment: As a global organisation, we are dedicated to integrating sustainable practices into all our operations. Aligning with global environmental efforts forms a crucial pillar of our strategy.
This strategy document will guide us over the next four years, providing a clear roadmap for the IPA’s future. While we are committed to delivering on these objectives and growing our organisation, success will depend on the collective ownership, collaboration, and dedication of every IPA section.
