2023–2027 Strategic Vision & Global Engagement

The International Relations Commission (IRC) of the IPA is proud to lead a wide range of forward-looking projects between 2023 and 2027 that strengthen international cooperation, enhance IPA’s global visibility, and align our mission with the work of international institutions.

These projects are designed to deepen strategic partnerships, promote professional collaboration, and contribute to global peace, safety, and community resilience.

Strategic Relationships with International Institutions

One of the IRC’s key goals is to build and maintain long-term partnerships with a broad range of global and regional organisations. We are actively strengthening ties with:

  • United Nations
  • Council of Europe
  • European Parliament
  • Europol
  • Frontex
  • Interpol
  • SELEC
  • CEPOL
  • ASEANAPOL
  • ROADPOL
  • RAILPOL
  • AQUAPOL
  • AIRPOL
  • AFRIPOL
  • MEPA

These partnerships promote the exchange of best practices, enhance IPA’s influence in global forums, and open doors for collaborative initiatives in law enforcement, education, and public safety.

🌍 IPA Liaison Officers – A Global Presence

To support our institutional outreach, the IRC has established IPA Liaison Officers in key locations around the world. These officers serve as vital links to our international partners and represent the IPA in multilateral forums.

  • United Nations:
    • New York
    • Geneva
    • Vienna
    • Nairobi
  • European Union Institutions:
    • Brussels
    • Strasbourg

This global network of liaison officers ensures strong representation and effective engagement with decision-makers and partner organisations.

🌎 IRC 7 Regions Project

This ambitious project connects the 7 IPA regions and aims to operationalise the IPA Strategy 2023–2027 in every corner of the IPA community.

Through a combination of physical, hybrid, and virtual meetings, IRC works closely with each regional section to:

  • Share knowledge and local experiences
  • Coordinate international projects
  • Build leadership capacity
  • Support strategic implementation at national and regional levels

Two regional meetings are held annually, providing a collaborative platform to drive alignment and innovation.

Special Projects

The IRC is also supporting and developing a range of specialised projects that reflect our commitment to international cooperation and humanitarian values:

  • UN Tree Project – A global environmental initiative aligning with UN Sustainable Development Goals
  • UN Maritime Project – Exploring IPA’s contribution to maritime security, cooperation, and training
  • IPA Red Cross Project – Humanitarian collaboration in times of crisis, focusing on support, relief, and training

These projects represent our commitment to making a meaningful, tangible impact across key global challenges.
