International Photo Competition 2026

The IPA Socio-Cultural Commission invites all members of the International Police Association to take part in the IPA International Photo Competition 2026 and showcase their photographic talent to an international audience.

A selection of winning photographs will be exhibited for the first time during the IPA World Congress 2026 in Sri Lanka, before travelling to other IPA Sections worldwide.

Competition Categories

Open Category

Any photographic subject or topic.

Subject Category

Police at work, with emphasis on Women in Police.

Awards

  • €400 – Overall Winner

  • €300 – Winner of each category

  • €200 – Second place in each category

  • €100 – Third place in each category

  • 6 Merit Awards

All prizes will be presented during the IPA World Congress 2026 in Sri Lanka.

Important Dates

  • Entry deadline: 31 July 2026

  • Judging: 15 August 2026

Judging will be carried out by professional photographers.

Exhibition

  • 50 photographs will be selected for the International Exhibition

  • First display: IPA World Congress 2026 – Sri Lanka

  • Afterwards the exhibition may tour other IPA Sections worldwide

Entry Requirements

  • Open to all members of the International Police Association

  • Maximum 5 photographs per person in each category

  • Submit photos with the official entry form via email to:

  • If files exceed 10MB, send in multiple emails

Rules & Conditions

  • By entering, participants grant the International Police Association the right to reproduce images for IPA purposes

  • Judges’ decision is final

  • The IPA cannot accept responsibility for loss of images

  • Submission implies acceptance of the competition rules

International Photo Competition 2025

The IPA Arts and Culture Photo Competition celebrates the vibrant diversity, heritage, and spirit of our global community through the power of photography. Open to all IPA members, this annual event invites participants to showcase their creativity, cultural perspectives, and unique stories from around the world.

Organised by the Arts and Culture Project Team under the leadership of Sociocultural Commission Chairperson Christos Parginos, the competition fosters cultural exchange and artistic expression, strengthening the bonds that unite us through shared visual storytelling.

IPA International Photo Competition 2025 – Results

Following the 68th IPA World Congress held in Kraków, Poland (16–21 September 2025), we are delighted to announce the results of the IPA International Photo Competition 2025.

This year’s competition was truly global, attracting nearly 500 entries from IPA members across 32 countries. Participants competed in two categories: Open and Police – submitting works that ranged from spontaneous snapshots to striking photographic artistry.

Judging was carried out by an international panel whose experience and cultural diversity added great value to the process:

  • Harry Mootoosamy (Mauritius) – Portrait artist, photographer, and designer

  • Janet Nyanchoka Nyamwamu (Kenya) – Journalist and visual storyteller

  • Marek Krupa (Poland) – Official photographer of the Polish National Police

  • Klaus D. Fahlbusch (Germany) – Internationally exhibited photographer

  • Aneta Sobieraj (Poland) – Police officer and award-winning photographer

The Grand Prize was awarded to a powerful image depicting police officers rescuing an animal in life-threatening danger — a moving testament to courage, compassion, and humanity in policing.
