Arts & Culture Activities
The IPA Arts and Culture Project, under the guidance of the Sociocultural Commission, offers a rich programme of activities that inspire creativity, promote international friendship, and celebrate the diverse talents and traditions of our global IPA family.
From poetry to visual arts and historical collecting, these events create meaningful connections across borders and generations—demonstrating the cultural heartbeat of our association.
POETRY DAY
Honouring Words, Language & Emotion
Every March 21st, IPA members gather online to celebrate Poetry Day—a warm and inspiring event open to all poetry lovers. Participants are invited to read their own poems or recite works by well-known poets from their home countries.
Poems may be shared in English, the speaker’s native language, or in both—preserving both the meaning and musicality of the original text. The event fosters a beautiful atmosphere of mutual appreciation, where the written word becomes a bridge between cultures.
Whether you’re an experienced writer or a lover of verse, Poetry Day is a chance to connect, share, and be inspired.
🎨 ARTIPA
Art Exhibitions by IPA Members
The ARTIPA event is a recurring exhibition of visual and literary art created by IPA members. Held annually in various host countries, it showcases works such as:
- Paintings
- Photography
- Sculpture
- Creative writing
Recent ARTIPA editions:
- 2023 – Madrid, Spain
- 2024 – Cáceres, Spain (Extremadura)
- 2025 – Scheduled for Barcelona, Spain
All IPA members engaged in artistic activities are warmly encouraged to participate, exhibit their creations, and connect with fellow artists from around the world.
ARTIPA not only celebrates creativity but also highlights the personal and cultural stories behind each work of art.
POLICE COLLECTING MEETINGS
Preserving Police History Through Collectibles
Police collectibles represent the history, identity, and pride of police forces around the world. In support of this unique interest, several IPA national sections regularly organize Police Collecting Meetings.
The Spanish Section, for example, hosts at least three annual meetings in cities such as Madrid, Barcelona, and Valencia. Collectors bring and display items including:
- Uniform caps and hats
- Badges and patches
- Figurines and memorabilia
Participants gather to exchange, discuss, and admire the diverse and historic artifacts from law enforcement agencies worldwide.
These events are open to all national sections—either to join or to organize their own local gatherings.
2025 Special Exhibition: Police Hats
As a special initiative for 2025, the Sociocultural Commission will host a Police Hat Exhibition during the 68th IPA World Congress in Kraków.
Each national delegate has been invited to bring a police cap representing their country’s force. The exhibition will showcase this diverse collection—symbolizing the unity and diversity of our international community.
