A New Tradition Begins
We are proud to introduce the IPA World Football Tournament, a new international sporting event launched in 2025 by the International Police Association (IPA).
This exciting tournament will take place every two years, alternating with the IPA Games, offering IPA members an annual opportunity to come together through sport, friendship, and shared values.

The IPA World Football Tournament is more than just a competition. It is designed to:
- Promote camaraderie and solidarity among police officers across the globe
- Provide an opportunity for friendly, respectful sporting exchange
- Foster cultural understanding and international friendship through football
All IPA Sections are encouraged to take part by sending both men’s and women’s teams. This event is open to both active and retired police officers, showcasing the IPA’s commitment to unity and inclusiveness.

This tournament celebrates more than athleticism — it strengthens international relationships and promotes Service Through Friendship, the core value of the IPA. On and off the field, participants build lifelong memories through teamwork, sportsmanship, and shared experiences.
1st IPA World Football Tournament – Albania 2025
The inaugural edition of the IPA World Football Tournament took place in the historic city of Shkodër, Albania, from 04 to 08 June 2025.
The event brought together over 250 participants from 12 countries, representing 16 teams across both men’s and women’s competitions. IPA Sections from around the world came together for a week of friendly competition, unity, and celebration.
With matches played in a vibrant and supportive atmosphere, the tournament demonstrated the power of sport to connect police officers internationally. The Albanian hosts provided warm hospitality and an unforgettable experience, setting a strong foundation for this new tradition. The event also featured opportunities for cultural exchange and social gatherings, reinforcing the IPA’s vision of building bridges through international cooperation and friendship.
Looking Ahead
With the success of the first tournament, the IPA World Football Tournament is now a permanent fixture in the IPA’s sporting calendar. The next edition will take place in 2027 — more details coming soon!
