One of the unusual attractions of Ostrów Tumski is the Lighthouse Keeper, who lights the gas lanterns located on Ostrów Tumski every day at dusk to extinguish them at dawn with the first rays of the morning sun.

It is worth mentioning that Nicolaus Copernicus lived temporarily on Ostrów Tumski and was a scholastic at Wrocław's Holy Cross Church from 1503 to 1538.
