ARTIPA 2026 -IPA SPAIN

The Socio-Cultural Commission of the International Police Association, Spanish Section, in collaboration with the IPA Territorial Communities of Navarre and La Rioja, is pleased to present the fourth edition of the ARTIPA competition. This event aims to showcase the cultural skills and interests of our Association’s members.

IPA was founded with the mission of uniting and fostering friendship among police officers worldwide, as well as promoting their hobbies and passions. Thus, each of its national sections organizes courses, trips, culinary gatherings, and cultural events of all kinds: photography, video, painting, literature, theater… And that is what ARTIPA is: a cultural initiative that seeks to provide a platform for all those officers dedicated to security in their professional lives, who also harbor artistic impulses in any of their various forms in their private lives.

ARTIPA arrived in Spain in 2023, with its first edition held in Madrid, after learning of a similar event held in Lyon in 2019, organized by the Alpes-Rhône region of the French section of the IPA.

It was timed to coincide with another cultural event organized by IPA Madrid: the traditional collectors’ gathering called POLIBOMBER, thus ensuring a suitable venue: the Madrid Community’s Institute for Security and Emergency Training. The event benefited from extensive publicity and a large audience, thanks to the combination of both events and exhibitors from across Spain and the United Kingdom.

The second edition traveled to Extremadura, specifically to the city of Cáceres, one of the 15 Spanish cities designated as World Heritage Sites. It benefited from the invaluable and crucial collaboration of the Provincial Council, which provided its best exhibition hall next to the monumental Plaza Mayor. The event featured police officers who were also artists, hailing from neighboring Portugal and from across the seas, from the wonderful country of Colombia.

The third edition of ARTIPA took place in a very special and moving setting. If any group can be compared to the police, it is undoubtedly our fellow firefighters, who generously offered the space of their Museum in Barcelona to make this cultural activity a reality.

This fourth edition takes us from Catalonia to the Chartered Community of Navarre, to an incomparable historical and cultural setting: the Principality of Viana.

We have no doubt that this fourth ARTIPA will once again be a success, for which we are already feeling satisfied and grateful.

We encourage everyone to participate and visit the exhibition and the complementary activities that are part of the program and which are sure to delight everyone.

Best regards and SERVO PER AMIKEKO (SERVICE THROUGH FRIENDSHIP, in Esperanto, IPA’s motto).
